Introduction to Academic Radiology

Description: A 15–18-hour introductory course in research, presented over the course of 4–5 days at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America or at the annual meeting of the American Roentgen Ray Society. The objectives of the Introduction to Research Program are to introduce residents to research in the second year of their residencies, demonstrate the importance of research in diagnostic radiology, illustrate the excitement of research careers, and introduce residents to successful clinical radiology researchers. Topics include: Designing a Research Question, Finding a Mentor, Critical Review of Scientific Literature, Publishing Your Manuscript in Radiology.

Target Audience: Second Year Residents
Format: Series of lectures given by professionals
CME: None
Fee: No fee. Participants are to be nominated by Department Chair. The departments of the selected participants will be provided a $1000 grant which may be used by the department in any way to help advance the candidate's academic career.
